
In this unconventional drill, called the Reversed Sumo Drill/Game, players start back-to-back and must gain inside position before a rebound or entry pass. It trains body control, contact balance, and defensive footwork in tight spaces.
Objectives

- Get used to the contacts own Rebound.
- Work on footwork in order to claim a space (for both attacker and defender).
Recommended age

- From 8 years onwards (Minibasket: categories, benjamin and fry).
Number of players

- From 2 players on.
- You can play in mode 1×1, 2×2 and 3×3.
Recommended time

- The time of the round is less than 30 seconds.
- It is recommended to play it in total between about 4-7 minutes.
Equipment and facilities

- You can start the game/exercise without the ball for a first contact.
- Making the game/exercise in a pure state, a ball for each group.
- You can play in a diaphanous space (bounded by the circle with a chalk or assigning a specific location), a half court or a court as a whole.
Initial layout and description of the Game/Exercise of the Supreme Invested
The players appoint their role (attacker and defender). The attacker will begin at the intersection of the line with the line of half-court and the defender will start right in the center of the circle with the ball.
The defender will launch the ball upward in such a way that the ball will continue to bounce more in the center of the circle.How much the ball leaves his hands, the attacker can go to catch the ball. The defender will have to leave the circle and stand between the attacker and the ball. The goal of each one of them is:
- For the defender, get lodged between the ball and the attacker until the ball has stopped bouncing. Then there will be earned.
- For the attacker, to get done with the ball before it stops bouncing.
At the end, change the players reversed the roles.
In the event of play being the most players, the players will be placed in the following way:
- 2×2: The two defenders on each side of the circle, and the attackers at each point of intersection of the line from half court with each band.

Variants of the Reversed Sumo Drill/Game
- The defender drops the ball (the round will take less time).
- The defender put the ball on the ground (it will delimit a certain amount of time to measure the rounds and that there is equality of opportunity).
- It can be played by teams. Going by adding up the time it takes for attackers to recover the ball. Then the roles are reversed, and in the end the team wins more seconds, has joined defending the ball. You can include game situations and assess some extra point in the case of mark basket that then have an impact on the end-time of each computer (a basket of closing the rebound sum 1-3 points and a basket of loaded, with the rebound sum 3-5 points).
- The defender put the ball and defends him closer to the ball.
- The defender can only defend the space outside the circle.
- The defender can only defend the space within the circle.
- Reduce the circle to one of the two semi-circles.
