The 1-on-1 Basic Quadrant Drill is a foundational exercise for working on individual offensive and defensive skills within a confined space—typically one quadrant of the half court. This drill emphasizes footwork, closeouts, attack angles, and containment, making it perfect for teaching 1-on-1 fundamentals in a controlled and repeatable environment.

- 1 court full case of 12 (4 trios)
Initial layout and description
We divided the group in pairs and/or triplets. Each group comes from the beginning of the half pitch (the attacking player, in triple threat position, is in the field offensive and the ombudsman, legal position-defensive and safe distance, is in line hoop-ball).The defender passes the ball to the attacker, and the attacker leaves before they have passed 3 seconds.
Note: it is recommended that players compete by bringing the score, in this way it promotes the intensity of the exercise.
Variants
- The 1×1 to play from the line of triple.
- The 1×1 is played from the corner.
- The 1×1 is played from the Low Post.
- The 1×1 begins in much the defender passes the ball to the attacker.
- It gets a maximum of boats to play a 1×1. May vary depending on from where it is to play (higher closeness of the ring, with a lower number of boats).
- The defender can make a countdown of 5 seconds or less.
- You can promote the defense scoring the times for the defender to recover the ball (before the shooting, 3-point; during the shot for 2 points and 1 point on the rebound defensive).
- You can promote the attack by the attacker that mark repeat role.
