Common causes of Plantar Fasciitis

The most common cause of the irritation of the plantar fascia. Is usually caused by:

  1. Anatomical, translated as a disruption of the plantar arch (by either a lengthening or shortening of the same).
  2. Poisoning of the tissues (accumulation of toxic substances: Micro-crystals, uric acid acid sálico, metabolites, wastes and other substances that build up and usually they are irritating and make the nerve endings suffer from pain. It may be due to poor circulation or a problem venous or lymphatic going to encourage that there is more accumulation of these toxic substances in the tissues since they are not being removed from the body.
  3. Poor diet or poor elimination. Removal of these toxic substances by the kidneys or the liver.
  4. Walk a bit and/or evil. Too much sedentary time. You may have a bad tone muscle.

  • Stabilizing muscles of the hip, weak
  • Little variability in the direction of the race (see runners at athletics track) or on the side of the road or the shoulder beach.

Treatment and rehabilitation

There are a multitude of treatments for plantar fasciitis. Athletes often use templates support, physiotherapy sessions, and even bandages at night.

The healing is very slow, which may reach up to 9 months. Without a doubt, the best treatment is rest.

In some extreme cases in which there are no improvements, you can opt for infiltrations of steroids, therapy, shock wave, or release operation of the fascia.

For the daily treatment is also recommended to make bath salts relaxing in a basin of about 4-5 litres with 3-4 tablespoons of salts relaxing.

Back to the action

The athlete should only return to sports practice when you are completely pain free. After suffering a plantar fasciitis, the back can range between a few weeks or even a whole year. If the return occurs after a surgical intervention, it may take many months before returning to competition.
