
This Ball screen rotation drill focuses on executing and defending the pick-and-roll from various spots on the court.
Players rotate through different positions as screeners, ball handlers, and defenders, reinforcing timing, spacing, and communication.
Objectives

- Practice the foundation of the Locking Direct.
- Warm-up with a wheel of foundations collective.
Recommended age

- From 12 years onwards.
Note: You can do an initiation to the Direct Blockage causing players to cross, or by replacing the Direct Blockage by the Pass in hand.
Number of players

- From 2 players on.
- Convertible to exercise 2×2 having 4 players forward.
Recommended time

- 4-6 minutes.
- 3 minutes on each side.
Equipment and facilities

- 1 ball for every two players.
- 3 balls minimum to have rhythm.
- A half Basketball court.
Initial layout and description
Form two rows, one composed of players with the ball located on the outside of the triple and the other composed of players without the ball on the opposite side.
The first of the row without the ball’s going to put a Direct Blocking. The first of the row with the ball waits for the player arrives and is placed in position in the legal position of the Locking Direct.
Thereupon passes to the Direct Blockage by the far side of the basket.
When the player who takes the Direct Blocking what happens, you have to make sure that what goes shoulder to shoulder (technical detail to keep in mind).
Once the player taking the Direct Blocking is coming out, the block continues to the ring to receive the pass. Once I receive it ends with entry or shot.
Finally, the ending picks up his own rebound and goes to the row with the ball and gave the pass goes to the row without the ball.
Variants
- Must end with entry to the basket.
- There is that ending shot.
- You can include the option to change from hand and/or reblock.
