The main doubts that I had, at the time of creating this decalogue were what they were going to be the 10 holy rules that would embody the ideal of coexistence and communication that must be in a team lead.
Currently I am in charge of a pre-child male and I care a lot to have a good education and sport discipline, but more important to me that they know the why of this need. They are in a stage of transition, in which the make the jump from college to institute, a mini-basket-to-basket standard.
Entering adolescence, in which they cease to be children, but they will also fail to still be adults. The main goal I have for this season is to have fun playing. Fulfilling this goal I will have fulfilled two other in an indirect way (to achieve a good adhesion to the sport and create a good group of friends).
The results are not the priority, but we must not forget that competes to win (yes, it’s better to lose good to win and bad ways).
Now, I will list the rules of the decalogue. Should not be imposed on the first day, before there who have observed the behaviors of the group to learn to prioritize. Then, at the time of submission, there is that praise is a summary of everything that can be improved and that serves to make explicit what was more important in the co-existence of the group in training and matches. It is essential to read it with the players so that they can ask questions and then discuss it among all.
- When a friend speaks, says, or thinks, he listens to him. (ex: you shouldn’t throw the ball when someone speaks. RESPECT).
- If you do, take it seriously. We all come to have fun, but also to take advantage of our time in common (SERIOUSLY).
- Do not give anything by fact or by fact. You must do it to prove it to ourselves to be on the safe (SECURITY-SINCERITY-HONESTY). The best way to instill this is showing the insecurities and doubts that you can have in different situations and how is motrando the insecurities and doubts that you can have in different situations and how to prevent them and anticipate them. Diffuse them, creating a more clear and safer.
- You learn from mistakes. If you do not make mistakes, you learn faster, but not necessarily better. The methodology of the trial-and-error is classical, and can be used with the goal of teaching new concepts to the couple that impesiona longer see the error and then improved after the correction. It is important for children to understand the reason of being of a concept or a procedure.(LEARNING).
- If you’ve done it all as best as possible, I will have the pleasure of not being able to ask myself what I would have done if I would have made more of an effort. (EXCELLENCE AND EFFORT = EFFORT FOR THE EXCELLENCE AND EXCELLENCE OF THE EFFORT). It is essential that the boys realize that the effort is to give the maximum to the couple that is designed to efficiently energies.
- If I do not know of any concept or procedure, ask without fear or shame. There is No greater joy than to learn something new every day. There is nothing better than being happy for the improvement of a companion. Improving all the parts, is achieved with a better engine (GEAR).
- Don’t you wonder what they can do to your teammates, you better ask yourself what you can do for your fellow (FELLOWSHIP). Phrase legendary Magic Johnson.
- Play how you train. The workouts are the basis of the improvement. If not I strive to improve in training, never get better (TRANSFER). It is essential to show the players that everything that is done throughout the week has its impact on the match. with the good use of time, we will have more opportunities to face new challenges (it is equal to the standard 2 with the difference that it makes explicit the reason and the impact it has good use of the time-sharing).
- If I have a problem that may have an impact on the activity, I tell my Coach (TRUST/PRIVACY/DISCLAIMER). There is to be accessible to our players and show them that you can be trusted. We are coaches, not coleguillas of our players. That does not prevent us from expressing emotions. You have to respect that border without having to remember its existence.
- I believe in the daily work in the mine and that of my peers. It is true that faith moves mountains, but more important is to have reasons to HAVE CONVICTION. First of all, respect for the work of all. It is more important to have reasons to believe that to believe without foundation. It is necessary to argue with reasons. The players that I offer are old enough to understand the reasons for the guidelines framework.
In conclusion, I believe that there are rules that could be applied to the majority of the training teams. It is also true that each coach is a world to have its own personality and perspective of reality, but this does not mean that we will be able to have forms that are very similar to acting or that we have situations identical in our day-to-day work as coaches. For other young teams could be summarized or filter rules. For a team of fry we could leave it in 7, and one of benjamins in 5.
I hope that with this decalogue be reflected properly clear what my priorities are and what I expect of the computers that I run after you pass the Decalogue. To be an open topic, I ask you to talk about them the ten commandments and that will bother to put any rules that consider to be the most timely manner or even, that prioricéis standards according to categories (ages).A greeting to tod@s!
